When you use aftrmi, a service operated by RIPAPP LLC ("aftrmi," "we," "us," or "our"), we collect the following types of information:
Information you provide
- Phone number (for authentication)
- Name and profile information
- Estate planning data: member details, assets, wishes, will content, directives, vault items, and other information you choose to enter
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps, and interactions with the Service
- Device information: browser type, operating system, device identifiers
- IP address and approximate location (country/region level)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account
- Generate documents based on information you enter
- Send service-related notifications (account security, updates)
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the user experience (in aggregate, not individually)
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
We will never sell your personal information to third parties. We will never use your estate planning data for advertising or marketing purposes by aftrmi.
3. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers managed by our infrastructure providers. We use industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and encryption at rest
- Row-level security (RLS) ensuring you can only access your own data
- Phone-based authentication with no passwords to steal
- Client-side encryption for vault items, so we cannot read your encrypted secrets

4. Data Sharing
We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use third-party services for hosting (Supabase), authentication (Clerk), and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.
- Member access: If you invite members to your plan and grant them permissions, they will be able to see the information you have specifically shared with them.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records. Anonymized, aggregate data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").

7. California Residents (CCPA)

8. European Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data on the legal bases of consent, contract performance, and legitimate interest. You have the rights listed in Section 6 above, plus the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies required for authentication and the proper functioning of the Service. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Analytics tools may use anonymous session cookies that do not personally identify you.
10. Children
aftrmi is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised policy and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
